Hampton Inn & Suites Brenham

Sherry and her breakfast assistant were great. We arrived a little late for breakfast, but they kept it open for us. There was a nice choice of muffins, cereal, fresh milk, yogurt, and fruit cups. No waffle machine, but who cares. Allie at the front desk had my room ready for a late arrival, and the person at the desk the next day was pleasant, though I didn’t get her name. The place looks like an older motel at first, but inside it’s a really nice Best Western. It was clean, crisp, and smelled good, with a spotless bathroom and a great 50/60-inch in-room Netflix TV. I usually stay at the Hampton in Brenham, but it was sold out. The property has been kept up and remodeled well, and the rooms and breakfast area feel up to date. If you’re the franchisee, you’ve done great work. Blinn parents, this is a great place to stay.

The room looked clean, the lobby was nice, and the bed seemed so inviting with its fluffy pillows and comforter. Then I lay down and found the mattress aggressively uncomfortable, like it was full of disappointed bricks. I tossed and turned all night. There was no coffee in the room, not a packet or machine or even decaf. To get caffeine, I had to go down to the lobby and face the world before I was awake. Everything else was fine, though: friendly staff, a good location, and a clean room. I didn’t hate the stay, but I didn’t sleep or caffeinate properly. I’d stay again, but I’d bring my own coffee maker and maybe a mattress topper. Three stars for the cleanliness, the appearance, and a bed that looks far more inviting than it feels.

We had to stay here for a wedding, and it turned out to be the best Best Western we’ve ever been to. The facility was so clean, well maintained, and comfortable that we were pleasantly surprised. We left something behind in the room, and the staff did their best to find it and kept it for us until we could come back. Their service was amazing. We were really impressed.

The rooms at the back were very quiet, and I’ll definitely return. The staff were friendly and accommodating, about a 9/10. Everything was very clean. The rooms open to the outside, like a motel, maybe an 8/10, though the broken shower curtain in #104 cost it a point. The building and office felt like a well-kept motel from the 70s. Thursday breakfast had sausage, eggs, and gravy, with bacon on alternate days. It was missing a waffle maker.
