Holiday Inn Express & Suites Brentwood by IHG

There aren’t many places to stay when visiting Brentwood, and this one was better than the hotel next door. Still, we waited at least five minutes for anyone to come to the front desk, and the lobby was poorly lit when we arrived in the evening. If we come back to Brentwood for golf, we’d probably book in another city.

The shower didn’t work, and they didn’t move me to another room until my third night. They basically made me feel dumb for not knowing how to use it, though the shower in the new room worked. The thermostat didn’t work either, there were ant traps under the fridge, and the little damages made the room look junky. It wasn’t worth the money, and they never refunded me for the two nights without a working shower.

The air conditioning was out in the lobby and dining area for our whole stay. Aside from that, the hotel was great. Our room was clean and comfortable, the fitness facility was adequate, and the continental breakfast was perfect.

We booked an accessible room well ahead, but the bathroom wasn’t accessible. There was a tub to step over to use the shower and no grab bar to hold onto, so someone in a wheelchair couldn’t get into the shower. There wasn’t a grab bar by the toilet either. Holiday Inn needs to retrofit the bathroom and bring it up to ADA standards. The hotel was very clean, the staff very friendly, and breakfast was good and complimentary.
