Cliff and Ruth were great hosts at the Bramble Inn. My wife and I spent four nights in the Equestrian Room, and we slept like rocks. The room was nice, and the breakfasts were exceptional. We arrived around dinner time and ate at the inn that evening. We both enjoyed our entrees, my Parchment Lobster and Chicken and her Bistro Chop, as well as the soups and bread pudding. I’d recommend the Bramble to anyone heading to the Cape.

The food was perfect, thoughtfully prepared and presented, and as delicious as any I’ve had. The service was impeccable, and the décor and table settings were delightful. My wife and I have rarely had a meal this fine. The attention to detail here is what every fine dining restaurant should aim for. Visit the Bramble Inn for a true dining experience, you won’t be disappointed.

I’m often asked where to eat on the Cape, but this isn’t somewhere I’ll return to. We sat down at 5:38 and ordered a bottle of wine. The manager apologized that our choice was out of stock and said he’d substitute a better, more expensive bottle for the lower price. Then we saw no one from the restaurant for 40 minutes. At 6:20 I went looking for a waiter and found the manager, who said, “it's Restaurant Week”. A waiter then came over, said he wasn’t our server, but took our order anyway. At 7:00 I had to track down the manager again because our appetizers still hadn’t arrived. He said “it's restaurant week” again, with no apology, as if it was our fault for coming in. The food was alright, average at best, and definitely not worth the price, among the highest on the Cape. I could have understood a busy night, but nobody apologized for the poor service, and there’s no excuse for that! Visited May 2016

The atmosphere was nice, but the food was a real disappointment. The mussels were more like a chorizo soup and had no class at all, while the tomato tartar tasted like canned tomatoes. I can’t imagine how a place with such a nice setting could serve food so badly prepared. If you’re in Brewster, this isn’t the place to go.

Last week at The Bramble, I had one of the strangest restaurant experiences. I can’t really call it a dining experience because I barely got to eat. My Taj Chicken arrived tough, dry, and tasteless. I told the server, who took it away and vanished. I wanted to order another entree, but she was nowhere around. Ten minutes later she returned with another Taj Chicken and said, “I hope this one is better.” It wasn’t, and I told her so. Before I could ask for something else, she took the chicken away and disappeared again without saying a word. By then my husband and friends were about halfway through their entrees. Another ten minutes passed before she came back to say, “We've decided to deduct the cost of the entree from your bill.” So I guess I just wasn’t getting dinner. It seemed like “they” had decided I didn’t deserve another chance to order. Everyone else had finished, so we went ahead and got dessert. Maybe when someone sends a dish back, the server should ask, “Oh, I'm sorry. Can I get you something different?”
