The 5 pm bar was such a nice extra after a long day of organizing. We’d just returned from a three-day retreat, and the rooms were roomy, cozy, and nice. The staff were amazing, the food was delicious, and the desserts were excellent. I was impressed with everything and glad I got to go. It was a great time of year to visit this hidden gem.

The grounds are beautiful, the facilities are fantastic, and the guest rooms are top notch. Most of all, the staff stood out for their service, attention to detail, kindness, and great attitude. I was here for a weeklong retreat and can’t say enough good things about the venue. The food was absolutely the best. If your company or agency needs a place for a working retreat, you’ve found it.

The wooded setting at Edith Macy Center made for a peaceful stay, away from the city. I attended a boot camp with Black Public Media and found it lovely overall. I also appreciated the center’s Gold Level of Sustainability award from the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC), which reflects its commitment to environmental stewardship. A couple of practical things could be better. My room was comfortable and well maintained, but it wasn’t cleaned daily. Fresh towels and other amenities were provided each day, which helped. The parking lot is a long way from the main building, though the van picked us up and dropped us off quickly. There are many stairs and no elevator, so I wouldn’t recommend Edith Macy Center for people with disabilities or anyone needing accessibility accommodations. I’d recommend it to others looking for a peaceful, picturesque spot for meetings or retreats.

The trail maps were my only real complaint. We went hiking during a break, but the maps were pretty useless and didn’t show the area properly. The conference setting itself was pretty and nice. Staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the food was okay. The bathroom was spotless and had a wedding-bathroom feel, though its locks were confusing.

The area is quiet and tucked away, and the grounds are beautiful. Rooms were very clean. Since you’re in the woods, just expect that you might see or bring critters into the room. There are lots of trails to hike, and you won’t regret exploring them.
