Brick Motor Inn

The $140 room had a strong pee smell, and when we finally pulled back the sheets at 5 am, we found several stains and a disgusting mattress. We checked in at 1:15 in the morning and left by five. At first we thought the odor might be mildew, since it's a motel and we weren't expecting a hotel experience, but after a night out we were just ready to sleep and couldn't take the smell any longer. I waited until 7 AM to call because I thought that was a reasonable time. I was calm and only meant to make them aware at first, not ask for money back. A man answered and passed the phone to someone else, who I assume was his wife. She was the woman who checked me in and said she remembered me, but she was very rude. She repeatedly asked why we hadn't called or said anything sooner, even though we'd arrived at 1:15 in the morning. She told me more than once to come back with the cops and that she wouldn't give me a dollar back. I'll dispute the charge with my bank, because of both the room and the unkind service.

The owners were so welcoming and sweet, and the room was clean, neat, and up to par. No worries about bugs, stinky rooms, or the usual off-season craziness by the shore. Such a pleasant stay, with nothing negative to say. Best place to stay, and I'll definitely be back. 😁😁👍👍

The people were nice, and it's right next to the diner. I stayed a week with my two kids, and my brother is renting weekly now. The manager is friendly, and their daughter was adorable playing with my kids. I paid 430 for the week, which feels a bit pricey. Weekly and monthly rates could be better, but otherwise it's a good place.

The area was fairly quiet and didn't feel unsafe, and there are some useful things here: free parking, private room entrances, a TV with lots of channels, microwave, mini fridge with a separate freezer, and cold a/c. The tub/shower seemed fairly clean, and there appears to be free wifi with a code from check in. But if your room is in the back, getting your things from the front parking lot may mean carrying them around the building and possibly up stairs. The price was goodish for being close to point pleasant and the surrounding beaches. It could have been a good room with better cleaning and upkeep. The floors were dirty, ash was on some surfaces, the mini fridge had visible dirt, and the walls had stains. It definitely smelled like a smoker had stayed there. Would have been a 3/4 star stay if it were cleaner and didn't smell of smoke.
