Hampton Inn Pittsburgh-Bridgeville

The location worked well, with plenty of restaurants and stores nearby, and it was close to Top Golf. We stayed so the kids could swim for a birthday. Everything was fine and pretty much what you'd expect from this kind of hotel. The room was clean, though a little worn and ready for freshening up.

My semi broke down while I was on a long haul, and I was scrambling to find somewhere pet friendly while it was being worked on. I travel with one dog and two cats, and most places either don't take cats or don't allow pets at all. This hotel welcomed both cats and dogs without limiting you to one or two pets. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond. They gave my dog a tennis ball and lots of pets and attention. Easily a 10 out of 10, probably my best hotel experience.

Spending the night was thoroughly miserable. During my stay it was around -7 degrees outside, and the AC kept turning on to bring the room back to 65, which the property apparently considers ideal for its budget. I couldn't raise the thermostat above that. They use Verdant thermostats, which I looked up, and they rely heavily on motion sensors to keep rooms cool when unoccupied. I've seen sensors like that linked to lights in budget hotels, but here they tied one to the heat. I won't stay at this location again, and Hampton as a brand takes a big hit with me for letting franchise holders do this.

The front desk staff were really friendly, and there was a great restaurant right across from us. This was an unexpected overnight stay, and I was impressed by how clean everything was. Our king suite was spacious and spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was included and wonderful.
