Ramada by Wyndham Tulsa Broken Arrow

We tried an upgraded room after the first two rooms were disappointing, since it was already 11 p.m. and we were exhausted. The front desk had helped us move from the first room, which had a family of roaches, but the second one wasn't any better. They offered the upgrade when we asked for a refund. I'm posting pictures of how the final room looked. At least that one had no roaches, though finding mold the next day didn't make me any happier.

The maids seem to do the best they can, but the place has roaches, old carpet, and foul odors by the shovel load. If you're willing to bring your own supplies, starting with roach spray, you might make it work. You can tell it was a nice place 30 years ago, but those days are long gone. If anyone cared a little more, they could spruce it up to decent for a few grand. Consider yourself warned. I'd give it about 2.5.

We had no choice but to stay because we were bringing my daughter home from basic and had to give her superiors the hotel information. I was disappointed and disgusted, and worried I wouldn't be able to sleep because I felt I had to stay awake watching her and my car. None of the exterior doors were secure, the whole property smelled of marijuana, and there was banging in the hallway and elevator. Furniture and garbage filled the first-floor hallway, making it hard to walk through. If there were a fire, there'd be no way to get out quickly. The bathroom was falling apart, there was no ceiling in the closet, and the lampshade and wall had stains of who knows what. The pictures don't come close to showing the property, and the amenities are only available if you stay at the connected sister property.

The hotel is conveniently off the freeway and near businesses, but the website photos don't show its actual condition. Check-in was at 3 p.m., and I waited in line for 35 minutes. The renovations weren't a real do-over. My grandson saw bugs crawling on the walls and floors, then later in the bed. Anytime a room is freezing, it may be hiding odors and bugs. I had to sleep in my car until management came the next morning and gave me a refund. Expedia worked with us and the hotel so I could relocate somewhere else. But my money still hasn't been released, so I'm being charged for one night and three nights. That's some BS. They should release the money immediately when they're selling a dream, not reality.
