We were able to get adjoining rooms, which meant we could keep an eye on the kids. We also had family movie nights while the boys watched racing and sports in a separate room. It was my first visit with my significant other and his family, who have been coming for years. The rooms were very clean and laid out well. Guest services were top notch when one of our little ones had an accident in bed. The flowers outside were beautiful, and the manager was so excited to see the family when we arrived. Everything had that Broken Bow feel, and we had a wonderful stay!

We’ve been staying at the Charles Wesley since our kids were teenagers, and now we bring our grandkids. We’ve made lots of great memories here and have loved the hospitality every time. The adjoining rooms can connect three rooms, so your kids can stay locked inside while remaining connected to you. The landscaping is outstanding, and the lighting and flowers would make a great photo shoot backdrop. They’ve made updates each time we’ve come. A bonus is that Papa Pablanos, which serves a great breakfast and dinner, is right behind the motel.

It’s a few blocks from downtown, and our room was quiet and clean. The receptionist was friendly and had great suggestions for things to do in the area.

I had doubts from check-in, when the manager handed me a room key, asked for it back a few seconds later, then told me to go to a bank down the road for a $100 cash deposit. I travel all the time and had never heard of a cash deposit. I went along with it, and he said he’d inspect the room in the morning and return the money. We went out for the night, came back late, turned off the lights, got into bed, and fell asleep right away. After checkout this morning, he came to inspect the room so we could get our $100 back. He and, I assume, his wife, who is the housekeeper, pulled back the sheets and accused us of leaving a greenish stain on the sheets and some on the pillows. We hadn’t noticed it the night before because of how the bed was made and because we got in late. We would have noticed if we spilled something, especially if the sheets or pillows were wet. We didn’t eat or drink in the room, so I know we didn’t leave the stain. We argued, and he refused to return the full $100. He eventually gave us only $60 while he and his wife kept talking to us terribly. The bed was very uncomfortable too. Stay away from this place. There are other places to stay in Broken Bow. They’re scam artists who’ll hustle you out of your cash. I should have known better when he first asked for the deposit. If you do stay here, check all the towels and sheets when you arrive so you don’t get scammed like we did. This place is awful. STAY AWAY!
