The room was clean, and booking was straightforward. Since the place is under new management, the older reviews may not reflect what it’s like now. I had an AC issue, but someone from the lounge came over and fixed it within minutes. They also offered to move me to another room. Great value for the price.

After an eight-hour drive from Atlanta with my two sons, I arrived at 2:14 a.m. for my 2:30 check-in. We’d booked by phone through OYO, and that part had been easy. A little girl, maybe nine, came to the window when I rang the bell, then fetched an older man. He frowned and barely spoke while I handed over my ID and gave my name. He insisted the room cost $54, even though I showed him my OYO booking and confirmation that I’d already paid. I didn’t argue, just asked for a receipt. He tossed my card and ID back, said there were no rooms, slammed the window, and walked away. He smelled strongly of alcohol, even through the window while I was wearing a mask, and seemed very drunk. I called OYO again to explain, but their representative couldn’t reach the property either. I hope I get my money back. Go to the newly opened MOTEL 6 instead. It’s much cleaner and friendlier. That OYO building had one guest, and now I understand why. The place speaks for itself. Never again. I wish I could give it zero stars.

The beds were tiny, the linens looked unclean, and cigarette burns had left holes all over them. I found old butts in an ashtray and other disgusting stuff in the nightstand while looking for the TV remote. The bathroom was dirty too, and the floor was stained and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in ages. When we shifted the microwave stand in our adjoining rooms, we found piles of dirt and trash underneath. The nightstand was propped up and needed fixing the next morning, which meant getting down on a floor that smelled of alcohol, cigarettes, and who knows what. The room itself was musty, dirty, and smelled of smoke, a problem for my family’s cigarette allergies. We’d driven 19 hours, and there was nowhere else in town or nearby, so we stayed at our destination. The owner had told me to inspect the room before booking, and I should’ve listened to my first impression. I barely slept. If you have to stay, put something against the door and stick to the hard beds. Otherwise, avoid it.

I paid for two nights, but after seeing the room, I couldn’t stay. The sheets were dirty, there were dead bugs everywhere, and the whole place was nasty. I told the man at the desk there was no way I could sleep there. He asked what I meant, then seemed confused when I asked if he knew the price for the dirtiest motel I’d ever seen. He returned all but $9, which I said was fair enough for that title. I’d sleep in my pickup bed before staying there again. It’s the last place on Earth I’d choose.

I booked through Hotwire, but the owner’s first comment was that I wouldn’t like the room. I explained I only needed somewhere to sleep before an early workday, and he repeated that I’d dislike it. He also demanded a $50 cash deposit and kept telling me to stay somewhere else. After that, he wouldn’t answer the phone to authorize my refund.
