Ocean Suites Motel

We’ve been visiting Brookings since our sons were babies, but this was our first time at Ocean suites. We came for my 41st birthday and were more than pleased with this sweet little place in the Brookings harbor. It’s close to our favorite drive-up beach spot, restaurants, and our sons’ favorite arcade. The cute, clean, quiet room had a little kitchen and an extra room where the boys could have their own space. Staying here made our trip special, and the staff were really nice. I accidentally left my rings behind, and they called us before we’d left town so we could come back for them. Very sweet. We’ll be back!

Two family members stayed here last week and were charged an extra $75 over what the owner and cleaning lady said. The explanation was that they’d peed in the closet, and she has pictures. Pictures of pee? That makes no sense. These two would never do something so awful. They’re both good Christian men and know how to use a toilet. Our family and many friends have stayed here for years, but we won’t come back. She didn’t even show them anything, just charged them. Is it really that easy to overcharge guests? We’re telling everyone who might stay again. Social media comes in handy for crooks like this. What a ridiculous way to make extra money.

The staff are amazing, and the rooms are really nice for the price. The grounds are well maintained, and their policies help keep guests chill and respectful. Absolutely five stars.

The food guide they give guests really sealed it for me. We tried two places for dinner and brunch, and the food was great. The rooms were quite nice too. From check-in through getting back a lost item, the employees and their service were amazing. This place really goes against the usual motel stereotypes.
