I liked how low-key it was. It cost about $30 less than the hotels down the street, and it was quieter, with hardly anyone hanging around outside. The staff were super friendly and mostly left you alone until checkout. If you just want to get away from people and relax, this works for that.

The bed was comfortable, with a nice cushioned top, and we had enough floor space for our things even though the room was small. We managed to get a non-smoking room, though most rooms didn’t appear to be marked that way. The location, availability, and price worked well for us. There was no fridge or microwave, and we didn’t get tissues, shampoo, a floor towel, or hand towels, just two bath towels and two washcloths. The gap between the shower and sink on the way to the toilet was tight. The shower had no tub and drained slowly, but otherwise things were in good shape. There aren’t many amenities, though what was there was fine.

I’ve stayed here several times and have gotten a new room each time. Room service is good, and the office staff treat you with respect and help when they can. The owner is a nice guy, I’ve met him a few times. They keep up the property well, and I haven’t had problems or seen the police. If you’re staying in the Brooklyn area, I’d suggest this place.

I paid $450 a week and found nicer accommodation nearby for less. The room was filthy, with holes in the bed covers and carpet, and I had to spray air sanitizer to get rid of a stale smell. The office was dirty and smelled too. It was overpriced, just as I’d suspected.
