Motel 6 Brooklyn Center, MN - Minneapolis

The staff have been great. Everyone has a story, and when we shared ours, they listened kindly and helped with the things we asked for. They’ve also replaced the bed frames and mattresses. Renting by the week works well for people like me who have a job and a sister with income. Affordable housing is hard to find, and Motel 6 is affordable and pet friendly.

The staff helped me change rooms and were kind about it, but unfortunately the replacement room still had a strong, unpleasant smell. The first room smelled strongly of cigarettes, and people in the room next door were smoking despite the “No Smoking” sign.

The rooms have been getting upgrades, including new microwaves and refrigerators with small freezers in the upgraded A1 room. Samantha and the NEW Housekeeping Supervisor are great, and housekeeping and customer service have improved a lot. Staff are friendly and very helpful. There’s still work to do, including on the outside of the property, but the improvements inside and in service have been dramatic during my time here. Don’t judge by the exterior while they’re addressing it. The place is quiet, safe, and secure, and works well for long term work travel, truck drivers, or a budget one off stay. It’s a cost effective place to stay.

The female front desk employee was very pleasant. The room’s only good points for me were the refrigerator and microwave. The bed was uncomfortable, the shower head couldn’t be adjusted, and the shower and tub setup was awkward. Even after I told the front desk, I still couldn’t get most TV stations, and the air vent was filthy. It’s an okay motel.
