The room was spotless, from the fresh linens to the well-kept bathroom. It felt like nobody had stayed there before. Everything was comfortable and organized, and the hotel was quiet and relaxing. The welcome at check-in was warm and professional, and the team kept being friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I had a fantastic time and would happily return. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, stress-free stay.

The two women working at the desk during the day, neither of them the manager, were fantastic. Almost everything else about my stay was awful. Afterward I contacted both the manager and Choice Hotels about what happened and heard nothing back. No surprise. 🙄 Given the comments and the deplorable management, I expect this place to face a lawsuit or for someone to be seriously hurt soon. A poorly placed kitchen cabinet crushed my fingers, and I fractured one. I went to the doctor about three weeks after my stay because it still hurt, and they confirmed it. The bed slanted and made noise the whole time. A neighbor's alarm rang for an hour at 4 am. There was no front desk then, so I stood in the cold vestibule for 15 minutes, below 0 degrees, talking with Jennifer, the after-hours site person. She was rude and dismissive and had trouble understanding me. I also told her the phone in my accessible room didn't work. That's a catastrophe waiting to happen.

Thefts were happening constantly. Near the end of our stay, as many as five vehicles were broken into each night, and management did nothing meaningful about it. There were no background checks, and dangerous people were living alongside families, older guests, and people with medical needs. The place felt less like a hotel than an unregulated place where instability was allowed to gather. During our time there, more than 150 law-enforcement officers, including federal agencies such as the ATF, came to arrest a criminal resident. The property was evacuated for hours, and some guests couldn't get to their medication or medical care. Maintenance was dangerous and incompetent. While installing an air-conditioning unit, a worker injured himself and left visible blood on the unit and nearby area. No professional cleaning was done, so I cleaned it myself. A shattered ashtray sat on the ground for nearly a week, and a spilled cigarette box in the dog area was left there. When our refrigerator broke, the manager tried to move and install it herself, damaging the walls. That's institutional failure, not initiative. The shower curtains didn't reach the floor, so water spilled outside the tub every time. The hotel never fixed it, and we bought and put up a longer curtain ourselves. The property was consistently dirty, and the walls were so thin we could hear full conversations from nearby rooms. One employee was rude, flirtatious, and unprofessional, repeatedly speaking Ukrainian to us without regard for whether we could communicate. Management was dismissive the whole time. Paying promptly, being respectful, and following the rules made no difference. We were treated like a burden. We have lived in Spain for twelve years and travel constantly for business, moving between our homes in Florida, Puerto Rico, and Argentina. We know different cultures, systems, and standards of living. This time in the United States, especially Wyoming and Colorado, was our last. We came to Colorado for specific reasons: my wife needed to be near her family during a medically and personally sensitive period, and I was pursuing a legitimate business investment. We weren't tourists. It was a practical stay. What we experienced went far beyond inconvenience. There was dysfunction everywhere, along with social hostility. The racial tension and open aggression we encountered in Wyoming and Colorado were deeply disturbing. Having lived in many countries, I've never felt as openly discriminated against as I did in that region. The hostility felt normalized, confrontational, and degrading. Back in our home in Málaga, Spain, the contrast is undeniable. Things work here; life is civil, humane, and genuinely beautiful. We aren't bracing ourselves for chaos or hostility. When we left Colorado and passed briefly through Florida, we knew we would never live in the United States again. After more than thirty-five years working in tourism and hospitality across several countries, I can say it plainly: this wasn't a bad stay. It was institutional and social breakdown. We're relieved and truly happy to be back in Málaga. What a trip.

The front desk staff were so helpful and answered all my questions. This was my first time at a woodspring, and I was impressed. It really felt like a home away from home.
Beautiful T.
The manager rocks, the rooms are nice, and everything felt clean. The staff are kind, and items are always available if you need anything.
