The one bright spot was the girl at the front desk, who was nice enough. There was also a jug of purified water in the office for filling my bottle. The toilet worked fine, too. Everything else felt filthy and neglected. I didn’t want to sit on the bed or take off my shoes. Outdated is one thing, but this place left me feeling like I’d catch something. The so-called high-speed internet cut in and out and wasn’t enough to stream a game on the TV or get work done on my laptop. Lights were missing a fixture and a bulb, and the smoke detector was gone, with wires hanging from the ceiling. Cardboard from a Walmart shipment covered the gap in the window above the AC. The sink was stained, the tub and shower walls were cracked and peeling, and the old towels were stained. The sheets smelled like someone or something had been on them, not like clean laundry. My travel partner had itchy bites all over his body for the rest of the trip. I’m guessing bedbugs. We chose Browning because it’s near Glacier, but next time I’d stay farther away, or sleep in the sagebrush, rather than come back if nothing else were available. I’ve never written a hotel review before, and I’m not just complaining for the sake of it. If I could give this a negative score, I would.

The owner and staff made us feel very welcome and were so kind and hospitable. Everything, including the grounds, was clean. You can request room service, and laundry is complimentary. Breakfast was included, and the movie theater popcorn was delicious. We’ll definitely visit again. Thanks to the owner and staff for looking after us so well! The Prairie Chicken Family 🌹

The room was supposed to be nonsmoking, but the blanket had burn holes. There was also a missing bathroom fan, an open electrical box, and a stained bathroom door. The woman in the office seemed completely lost. When I asked how much she had charged, she didn’t know and couldn’t give me a receipt. She said the owner would send one with the refund and promised it would be handled. We called about a room after seeing a price on Google Maps. The woman told my husband they’d have to honor it, but at check-in they charged me $180 as a walk-in and didn’t mention that until I went back to double-check. We were given a key to a room that was still being cleaned. I was given the owner’s name and number, but the call went straight to voicemail, and the mailbox was full. They said several times that the money would be refunded, but it’s been two weeks and nothing has come through. I was told the owner had a new baby and would take care of it as soon as possible. If they can’t manage the business better, they shouldn’t be in it. This was a complete rip-off. If I’d known the price, we would have gone to the casino for less.

The women in the office were pleasant, but getting a reasonable rate required booking through Hotels.com, and we couldn’t get the site to work. We paid anyway. Room 16 was barely large enough for the single bed, and the TV sat on a table level with the headboard, so watching it was awkward. The bathroom floor had broken tiles, and brown paint, I hope it was paint, was splattered on the white walls. We didn’t use the AC because it was filthy. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Parking was plentiful, and I could leave the car right outside my room where I could see it. The motel is just off the Main Street, though the area felt a little sketchy to me. The staff were very nice and check-in was easy. There was a water machine in the office. The check-out setup needs work: I tried leaving at 6:50 a.m., but the note on the door said to call, and that number didn’t work. I called another number and someone came to open the door so I could check out. A key drop box might help. I stayed two nights because I wanted to be closer to east Glacier and avoid an early start. That was a mistake. Everything felt dated, and the carpets, bedding, and towels seemed questionable. I got the saver price, around $90 a night, but still didn’t feel it was worth the cost. I felt pretty dirty staying there and wouldn’t return.
