We had a small mix-up with our room, but the woman at the desk sorted it out without any hassle. She was great, and had a great sense of humor. It was a fairly quiet hotel, with not much going on. The room was average, nothing flashy, with a comfortable bed and decent-sized pillows. The only thing that put me off was a faint cigarette smell near the entrance. I couldn’t tell if it came from the room or just outside the door. Aside from that little annoyance, it was a great experience. We’d definitely come back, if only to see the spunky woman at the desk again.

I was grateful to the owner and the young man at the desk for helping me avoid having to stay in my hot car. I’m picky, and I was surprised by the room: big, clean, and comfortable. The bathrooms are small, but big enough to do what you need to do, and there are plenty of TV channels. There was no breakfast, which was unusual, but I slept really well and felt very safe. It was quiet, and I’ll come back if I need to. Thanks for everything.

The receptionist was very kind and friendly, and the room did seem fairly clean. But we won’t be back. My husband and I were awake most of the night, and we’re still hurting this evening because the bed was so bad. It felt like a box spring on top of another box spring with only an inch or so of padding. I’ve slept on camping cots I’d gladly have chosen instead. We even thought about sleeping in our vehicle. The only other seating was two metal straight-back chairs with a bit of cushion on the seats. Trying to sit on one and rest my head on the table didn’t last long. We had just two flimsy pillows, which didn’t help. Friends staying there told us their TV had issues too and their bed was just like ours. There were a few other annoyances. The bathroom door wouldn’t close for me, though my husband said lifting it hard enough would work. Since it was just us in the room, that wasn’t a big deal. The TV had a red horizontal line across the screen on every channel, another problem I could live with. I’d seen free breakfast listed when booking, but found out none was included. There’s a McDonald’s, Waffle House, and Burger King nearby, so that was manageable too. I know you get what you pay for, but I’ve paid less for more when it comes to a place to stay.

For $88, this motel felt like it should have cost $50. The bathtub wasn’t clean, several outlets didn’t work, the lighting was harsh, and neither the beds nor the pillows were comfortable. The bathroom door nearly hit the toilet when opened, and its light and fan buzzed loudly. The biggest problem was my reservation through a third party, apparently a credit card company’s travel perks service. I’d prepaid, but they didn’t honor the booking, so I had to pay again for a different room. The motel had no reliable way to handle these reservations and just told me to call customer service. That number put me on hold, then told me to call another number, and it kept going. If this company accepts third-party bookings, it needs to deal with them properly. I’m definitely not coming back, and I don’t understand how there are so many good reviews.

The front desk clerk greeted me with a smile and great service when I arrived to check in. I gave her my name, and she said she’d just finished getting ready for my arrival. I could see a couple of stacks of paperwork for guests checking in, and I notice little things like that. That simple bit of organization told me this hotel rocks. The rooms are updated, the beds are soft, and everyone on staff I met was friendly. The room smelled fresh when we got there and felt like home for tonight and tomorrow. I travel a lot as a dad, and this is the best Econo Lodge I’ve stayed in. Great service, great prices, and really nice rooms. I’ll recommend this location to everyone and book here whenever I’m in town.
