Hampton Inn Bryant

Breakfast was very good, and the bar seats were comfortable with a clear view of the TV. A regular table would have been my preference, though. It was two days after Christmas, so the hotel may have been busier than usual, and those seats could be handy if you're dining alone or watching the news or a game. Getting here from the highway was easy, too. Our room with my niece was clean and the beds were comfortable. I liked the light-filtering and blackout roller blinds; they looked neater than curtains. And if you watch murder mysteries, at least nobody can hide behind them. 😁 The front desk staff responded quickly each time we reported a problem, but there were a lot of problems. The lock on our first room wouldn't engage because it seemed out of alignment. We were moved to another floor from my sister and brother-in-law, although we had asked to be near them. That wasn't a major issue, but it would've been safer and more convenient for my niece to visit her parents without using stairs or an elevator. We booked only about an hour before arriving while driving, so perhaps there were few rooms left, or a longer lead time might have avoided the move. I understand hotels can have maintenance problems in some rooms, and the desk staff may not know which rooms are still usable if those problems aren't clearly recorded. The second room had a connecting door that wouldn't lock on our side. We hadn't asked for a connecting room and didn't know who was next door, so that was unsettling. We had to move again. The third room's main door locked and it wasn't connected to another room, but the bathroom door stuck when about three quarters open and was difficult to pull free. It wouldn't shut all the way either. My niece couldn't see inside from her bed, but someone entering from the hall could. There was mold in both rooms my family used: a noticeable amount on the shower wall in my sister's room and a couple of small spots in ours. The hotel seemed to be undergoing some refurbishment. It was a comfortable overnight stop otherwise, but there were more issues than I'd expect.
