Quality Inn Buellton - Solvang

The room was on the small side, and the air conditioner could have been better. On a summer night that might have been a real problem. Still, everyone was super nice, the room was clean, and breakfast was a good hot meal, not just bagels. It’s an older place, but still nice. We stayed one night and had a great visit.

Everything was clean and presentable, and the place is about five minutes from Solvang, though a bit off the beaten path. We were looking for somewhere more affordable since many Solvang hotels were crazy expensive, but this felt like an economy motel without an economy price. The amenities and decor were very basic. The main problem was the noise from kids running and playing loudly in the hallway with room doors open. It started when we arrived around 4pm, was still happening when we returned from dinner at about 7pm, and began again in the morning while we packed. Thankfully, the kids were taken inside and things quieted down around 8pm. It was clean and well kept, but I’m not sure I’d pay over $200 a night for it.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the next morning I met a friendly, polite man at the desk. The coffee was good too. But the young guy who checked me in recently had an arrogant attitude and made rude comments, which soured the start of my stay. He shouldn’t treat customers that way and should rethink his career. Get someone else at the front desk.

The continental breakfast was better than what I’ve had at hotels costing five times as much. Staff were friendly all around, and everyone seemed happy to come to work. I’m all about customer service, and I’ll be back.
