SureStay Hotel by Best Western Buena Park Anaheim

The room smelled funky, and the bed wasn’t king size, it was full size. There’s no microwave in the room, so you have to use the one in the lobby. The pool is small and doesn’t look like the pictures. Spend the extra 30-50 per night somewhere else, because this isn’t worth it.

The room was spacious and had everything we needed, including AC and a fan. The bed was really comfortable, and the front desk staff member was friendly and gave very nice customer service. We enjoyed chatting with him and had a great stay.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and parking was plentiful. The location was convenient, too. But the room had almost no amenities: no clock, wall decor, or lamps, just harsh ceiling lights. There was only one coffee packet for two people. Our accessible room had a tiny sink and no bathroom counter or towel racks, so I had to hang towels from the grab bar by the toilet. Breakfast was very limited: coffee, juice, white bread with jam and butter, and a few small pastries. They had instant oatmeal packets but no water or milk to make them. It’s fine if you only need a convenient place to sleep, as long as you’re expecting the bare minimum.

After a long day at the theme park, the four of us in our two-bedroom room wanted showers and a good night’s sleep before the next day. We were given only two towels. When we asked for more, we were told there weren’t any and we’d have to wait until housekeeping came late the next morning. I tried to be understanding and make do. Then we found the bedding was dirty. The front desk said they couldn’t give us clean bedding, and apparently I was supposed to check the beds as soon as we arrived, before lying down. We couldn’t get fresh sheets to sleep on. I’ve stayed at plenty of Best Westerns over the years without trouble, but this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
