Best Western on the Avenue

The room itself was fine, but included parking didn’t mean there was a space for everyone. After coming back late from a concert, we were sent to the next lot and told we had to move the car by 7 AM because we weren’t really allowed to park there. That felt like a sketchy workaround, so we used a public lot a couple blocks away instead. If you need parking on site, I’d pick somewhere else.

The breakfast is worth catching, with plenty of food and choices, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our rate was reasonable too. The rooms were clean and had newer furnishings, which made the place seem fairly recently built. I wasn’t keen on the shag rugs beside the beds, though. They seem like they’d be hard to keep clean.

We came for a Sabres game, and the rink was just a short Uber ride away. The rooms were nice, parking was alright, and breakfast was better than at most places. I also liked the computer desks in the lobby and the pet parrot you can talk to. All in all, a good spot, and I’d stay again.

Simba, the lovely grey parrot, gave us a lobby welcome, which was a fun extra. The room was spotless and comfortable, with everything in top condition. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly and gave us great local food recommendations. One of the best run hotels I’ve stayed in.
