Quality Inn Bulls Gap

After traveling all day with our two little kids, we just wanted to relax. Instead, when we were barely through check-in, we were told we had to pay another $100 on top of what we’d already paid. They would only take cash because our IDs still said we lived in Tennessee. We explained to the two women at the front desk that we don’t live there anymore, but they didn’t care. They got a huge attitude and said they’d cancel our reservation and we could find another hotel because they didn’t want to deal with us. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this needed to be addressed.

Breakfast was a nice start to the day, and the room was both quiet and clean. The staff were friendly too. We’d stay again.

The location right off I-81 made this an easy, stress-free halfway stop for our trip. We were traveling with our Great Pyr, and they didn’t charge us an arm and a leg. The rooms were clean, and the customer service was kind and efficient. Great and convenient! 🫶🏼

The location right off the highway is the one good thing here. At around 7 pm, I saw about four people smoking outside the entrance, including someone from the front desk. He saw me coming in, put out his cigarette, and greeted me while still surrounded by smoke. I don’t mind people smoking if they’re considerate of those who don’t want secondhand smoke. The elevator smelled strongly of smoke too, and my family had to use it. The room we were assigned smelled musty, like it hadn’t been occupied in a long time. We turned on the air conditioner and opened the door to clear it out; it improved after an hour. Breakfast the next morning was close to nonexistent: just a muffin and some pieces of bread, no milk, eggs, yogurt, or sausage. They did have juice, but the coffee tasted like water and came in tiny cups. I don’t think the owner treats customers with respect and suspect they take advantage of people who are misinformed. This Quality Inn isn’t worth $97. Maybe $30 would make more sense. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for quality, though it could work for a quick overnight stop when you have no choice.
