Hotel Amarano Burbank - Hollywood

We had a wonderful two-night stay, and the rooms were spotless, spacious and well kept. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I usually struggle to sleep anywhere but my own bed, but I slept like a baby here. The staff were so warm and welcoming. Thanks to the concierge mam, whose name I’m sorry I forgot, for being helpful and arranging an early check-in, subject to availability. Luccia at the front desk was an absolute sweetheart and made check-in delightful. The tall valet attendant with glasses was also a big help when I was trying to find street parking. I’d definitely come back.

I paid about $500 online for two weekday nights, then was told I’d owe another $88 at the hotel. When I got there, it turned out to be $200. I wasn’t happy, but paid it. The final cost was $700 for two nights, which is a whole month of rent for some people. Looking back at all the problems, I wish I’d chosen the Hilton Inn instead. The room looked nice, and I loved the dual showerhead. They had wall-mounted body wash, shampoo and conditioner, but didn’t refill any of them before or during my stay. There’s just one ice machine, on the ground floor and as far from the elevator as possible. Parking costs $45 a night, unless you park on the street and get a $55 ticket instead. The free breakfast was a complete joke: one pastry, a sauce cup of oats with mysterious dried fruit, two spoonfuls of plain Greek yogurt and a sauce cup of melons that came pre-sliced in a bag, not fresh. If you have allergies, there are no substitutions; you just get less food. And every night there was a loud noise that hurt my ears. I’m glad I had noise-cancelling headphones because I couldn’t have slept without them. I’d wanted to give the place a higher rating because it looked so nice, but the breakfast and nighttime noise in particular felt like slaps in the face and soured my vacation. I could have forgiven the other issues. If I could redo the trip, I’d pick the Hilton instead.

The staff are what make Hotel Amarano so special. The valet team were friendly and attentive, and one of them even remembered my name in the elevator the next day. The front desk staff were professional and welcoming. We had two rooms, including one for a guest who is quadriplegic, and the team let us check in early to handle a medical need. They were also wonderfully accommodating when health circumstances meant we had to make changes. That care meant a lot to us. After looking at other places, we’re so glad we booked here. The location is perfect, and little things like umbrellas for our rainy Warner Bros. Studio tour made a difference. Rooms were spotless and comfortable, with lovely robes and a Lavazza coffee maker. An instruction card for the coffee machine would help, though. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the amenities felt a step above the standard hotel experience. Room service was quick and friendly. After a long day, we ordered several entrees and drinks, and all the food was delicious. The cocktails were great too. There wasn’t a thing we could fault, which feels rare these days. We can’t wait to return. Thank you!

Cute hotel, and nice, though definitely not five-star. I wish the menu had more options. We really needed to eat in both nights, but could only get room service one night. The filet mignon was the only dish that really appealed to us, and they were out of that and the hanger steak. On the second night we ordered a little food through Doordash. They said the order didn’t include a room number, so the employees just left it sitting there. I had to type the room number in myself. Whoever was responsible, it was a failure, and since the hotel couldn’t sort it out, I hold them responsible. I wouldn’t return. Also, don’t bother with the executive room, just get the deluxe. Maybe the more expensive rooms are just nicer.
