Riverfront Lodge

We came to Burkesville with a friend and his parents for River Festivus. They stayed at the same place and said their room was fine, but ours was disgusting. The sheets and bathtub were visibly dirty, the shower curtain was gross, and the room smelled terrible. We’d booked two nights, but after one night we decided to cut our losses and head home. The front desk attendant was kind and apologetic, and I want to say that first. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I’d want someone to warn me about a stay this bad. From the other reviews and my friend’s experience, it seems like a 50/50 chance of getting a decent room. If this were the only place to stay, I still wouldn’t come back.

The owner was friendly, and I had a comfortable room with a nice, big bathroom. Since I paid in person and avoided the third-party fee, he gave me 10% off.

The river view and location are great, and the staff were friendly. But moldy carpet, worn-out linens, and a rough tub spoiled the room for me. There are restaurants nearby and it’s easy to get around. I’d only stay again if there were no other options.

Krp was the nicest manager I’ve ever met and really went above and beyond for us. When my debit card was giving me trouble, he let me go to my room and relax while he tried it again later. I don’t know another hotel that would do that. My grandson and nephew were in the national high school fishing tournament at Dale hollow lake, and this was the closest place we could find that allowed our little dog. Krp works hard, the rooms are clean, the bed is comfy, and the prices are good. Thanks, Krp, you’re the best!
