Americinn Lodge & Suites Burlington

The breakfast was great, and I really liked their little pancake machine. I didn’t get a chance to use the pool, though you could see its steaming water whenever you walked by. Staff were welcoming and available any time, day or night. I had a wonderful stay at the AmericInn and will visit again, 10/10!

We left because the room bedding and everything else felt so gross. The first room we were given hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests, so staff moved us to another one. We dropped our things there and went straight to the pool, only to find there was no hot tub even though they said there was. The pool was supposed to be 85°, but it was too cold for us to swim more than 15 mins. Afterward, the shower didn’t keep water contained because it only had half a piece of glass covering part of it. We tried rinsing off and warming up, then decided to leave.

The room seemed somewhat acceptable when we arrived, but I found a random pill and lots of dust around the microwave. It had been unplugged, which was no big deal, but when I went to plug it in I could see it clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Finding the pill was the last straw, especially with my family there. I would have been furious if my 6 year old had found it.

I’ll never stay at a Wyndham hotel again. On 1-17-26, I booked through Wyndham Rewards and checked in online, selecting the no-cost late checkout offered to rewards members. The next morning, the hotel said it had no record of my online check-in or late checkout and charged me an extra $25. Wyndham blamed the hotel, the hotel blamed Wyndham, and neither fixed it. I filed a formal complaint, but nothing came of it. My calls with Wyndham involved many customer service people who were rude and could barely speak English. The room was freezing and wouldn’t warm up. There were bugs in the bathroom, the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, cabinets were broken, the TV remote controls didn’t work, and there were no clothes hangers. The front desk person wasn’t helpful or pleasant, said nothing about the rules or check-in and checkout, and didn’t acknowledge me as a Wyndham rewards member. It is near town, but I would never recommend staying here. I wish I could give this hotel and company 0 stars.
