Evans Holly Grove Inn B&B

We were on a motorcycle during a super hot day, and the owner kindly let us check in early. They also suggested places to go that evening, and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance. Snake Alley is right up the way. The house is gorgeous, and we stayed in the Gatsby room, with a really comfortable bed and a spacious, great bathroom with a shower and jetted tub. Breakfast was tasty, and we had a lovely time chatting with our host. We were there for one night on a road trip, and I’d highly recommend the inn.

Dustin and Kage have a beautiful place at the Holly Grove Inn. I’d never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but they showed me around the historic home. There are so many different rooms, and I really enjoyed hearing about the property’s history. The location is hard to beat. It’s just up the hill from downtown, an easy walk on a nice day, or about a two-minute drive to the center. The couple also recommended places to get food and drinks. I’ll definitely come back.

I’ve been here twice in the last few weeks, and both stays were wonderful. The owners are welcoming and personable, and they have great recommendations for the area. The house and rooms are breathtaking, with lots of history that the owners are happy to talk about and show you around. Definitely one of the best stays in Burlington, IA, if not the best.

The rooms felt roomy and homey, and everything was clean. Dusty, the caretaker and chef, was wonderful whenever we needed help. His pancakes were great, and I managed three servings of the breakfast casserole. Gizmo, the house dog, was a hit with my daughters too. We’ll be back soon.
