Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Minneapolis Burnsville

The workout room is nice, and the location works well for my job, which is why I've stayed here three times as a Marriott loyalist. Still, the service is minimal throughout the stay, and when I asked for the quiet side during my first visit, the manager replied, "which side is the quiet side." That wasn't what I expected. The hotel sits between two major roads and is noisy. It's the only hotel I've stayed at in 30-plus years where you're greeted by a sign. Based on the service and the front desk response to room issues, I'll find somewhere else.

Lok greeted us with a smile at check-in and asked how our day was going. Our room had no smell, the bathroom was clean, and it was quiet enough for us. We saw Lok again at checkout, and he was still working. He may have been on a 16-hour shift because nobody else had apparently shown up to take over, yet he still had a great attitude and a smile. Keep it up, Lok! There are plenty of restaurants and businesses nearby, and we'd stay here again.

Burnsville is clean and well maintained, with daily housekeeping and friendly staff. Fairfield is a great value brand for Marriott, especially for longer stays while visiting family or traveling for business.

Nice place overall, with breakfast in the morning, a pool and hot tub, and reasonably priced laundry machines on site. I don't know if every room is like this, but the curtains by the window didn't close all the way, so the room couldn't get fully dark. If you need to sleep during the day, like most vampires, you'd have to use the bed farthest from the window, cover your head, and face the wall. Minnesota sun gets bright! If the owner or manager sees this, tell me whether there's a vampire suite so I can ask for it next time ;)
