Quality Inn East Liverpool - Calcutta

The bed was clean and comfortable, and with the hotel full I understood that my room choices were limited. Still, the room they had was a king with a whirlpool tub, and they wouldn't go below $120 a night, even though I might have stayed for up to a month. They'd had 24 hours' notice of my check-in, so for that price I expected a properly cleaned room. The floors were sticky, there was dust and debris in the corners, and mold around the sink overflow was visible in the mirror. Some wall plates were broken or held in with drywall screws. It wasn't a bad place to stay considering the limited options, but the room needed work.

The beds felt like concrete slabs, the room smelled funky the whole time, and the shower head kept dripping. We asked to move, but they said they were booked. The place seemed a little overpriced for its quality. The staff, though, were really friendly people, and we had no problems with anyone.

The TV didn't work, so they moved us to another room. The floors were so dirty that we had to wear slippers to keep our feet clean.

The tub was still filthy the second time around, with the same nasty stuff all around it. By then it was too late to go swimming, and I had bought new swimsuits for my birthday getaway. After that, I pulled back the blankets and found what looked like dirt or sand in the sheets, plus a grease stain on another sheet. Some lamp bulbs were missing. I only wanted one more night so I wouldn't have to drive an hour home and back, and figured I'd clean the tub myself so I could finally relax in it like I was supposed to the week before. But when the front desk told the manager what had happened, I got banned with no explanation. What a way to treat paying customers who hadn't done anything wrong. I'll never book with this company again. Such a ripoff. I had originally paid extra for a whirlpool and balcony because I came to relax. When I filled the tub, it left what looked like dirty old skin or maybe feces in the water. With my OCD, I couldn't bring myself to get in the tub or even use the pool, and it ruined my little vacation. I told the front desk. They were polite and offered me another night for free, but that wasn't much use since I live an hour away and wouldn't be nearby again for a while. I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I asked for the same room because I liked its balcony overlooking the pool. I tried for Fri Feb 28, my birthday, but it was already taken, so I chose Sat March 1. I drove an hour and found out they'd given away the room that was supposed to have been bleached out. That was when the horrible experience really started.
