I-84 Motor Inn

I went to rent a room for a month for my family and was told it would be $850, cash only. When I asked why I couldn't pay by card, the woman whispered that they wanted to pay by card, while the long-haired man said he didn't care and would only take cash. She said they were the new owners and needed cash to fix the place up, and that the old manager had been lazy and dirty. I didn't want my family caught up in any drama, so I left. A few weeks ago this place wasn't so bad, but now it looks like a junkyard, with cars and trash everywhere and people who look like they haven't slept in months. It doesn't feel safe. I'd rather sleep in my car or stay at the Budget Inn across the freeway. The stairs look unsafe, and the building looks like it might cave in. I'll be calling the city.

Repairs and cleaning are underway, so there's a lot happening around the place right now. Even with all that going on, the new management kept guests a priority and was quick to help whenever I needed something. I'd stay here again, and I'm looking forward to seeing the work finished.

The staff were polite, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel was both quiet and very clean. It’s in a great location, too. Would work well for a vacation or a short stay.

Never staying here again. My husband and I left early to make the eight-hour drive home before dark, and our daughter had to make two trips to move her things. We told Jose she’d bring the key back after she finished, but the woman kept harassing her for it before she was out. There are no handicap rooms, so you have to use the stairs. I’d rather sleep in my car. 🚗 We came up from Utah for a funeral and stayed a week. At first the owner was very nice, but Jose was rude at checkout and said the room smelled of dogs. We had three dogs and a hedgehog, but took the dogs out regularly and kenneled them when we left, which wasn’t often. His helper came in afterward and said the room was very clean and had no damage. It was cleaner when we left than when we checked in. Still, Jose kept $100 because of the smell. The place is old and had hot water problems, though they did come fix those when we called so we could shower. There was no cable, only antenna channels, and I had to ask for the Wi-Fi password. There was no housekeeping service. We took out our own trash every day, and when I asked for a vacuum, it never came. There weren't any trash cans in the room until I requested one. I bought Clorox wipes, disinfectant, and Microban to clean everything to my standard. The carpets were stained and hadn't been cleaned, and some kitchen tiles were broken. Drawers in the kitchen and dressers had crumbs and mouse poop. There was black mold on the window seals. The tub and sink were so gross I had to bleach them before using the tub, whose drain was broken. Two chairs were stained and I couldn't clean them. The beds did have clean sheets and bedding, though they didn't match. We got two towels and one washcloth. The last night, we heard screaming next door, called management, and the police came and arrested the neighbor for domestic abuse. I'm going to report them to the BBB and the State of Idaho for tax fraud. They didn't give me a receipt, but I have the Caldwell city police department body cam footage to show I was there. They also have my daughter's name even though she lives in Idaho and we don't. I have a compromised immune system, and when I get home I'm seeing my doctor to check my lungs for black mold.
