Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Caldwell

The free hot breakfast, with bacon and eggs, tasted better than at some other places I've stayed, and it's easy to get to the highway and food. The staff were pleasant, the room was clean, and there was a bonus lounge with a ping pong table and a good-sized mounted TV in the room. The view of an abandoned tire lot and warehouse was depressing. Not a four-star hotel, but better than average for this kind of place.

We weren't sure how many rooms we'd need for relatives coming from out of town after an unexpected death in the family. The staff were accommodating and let us cancel any rooms we didn't need without a charge. We found handwritten sympathy cards on the beds. It was very touching.

After staying at the Best Western across the street three weeks earlier, I can say Microtel is much better. The rooms are cleaner and more modern, the TVs are better, and there are twice as many cable channels. They also had breakfast at 5am for hunters and served dinner, so the breakfast was actually available when hunters could use it.

It was quiet enough to be really restful, and the room was clean, mostly. There were a few carpet spots the vacuum missed. Breakfast was underwhelming, and it was a bit pricey, though I understand why. I'd still stay here again.
