We loved how quiet and beautiful it was for a midweek February stay. The cabins were clean and cute, and the grounds looked lovely and well kept even in winter. It’s a great spot if you’re skiing at Smuggler's Notch. We especially liked grilling dinner on the covered porch with a view, using the little camping grill we brought, and the bed, bathtub, and fireplace were all appreciated. The one letdown was the couch in Cabin 2. It was worn and saggy, and since it’s the main seating, we couldn’t get fully comfortable. Still, everything else more than made up for that, and we plan to come back in another season. We also had personal travel date problems, and the staff were very patient and accommodating when helping us change the dates through Expedia several times. Thank you.

The wood stove kept the cabin cozy at night, and there are nice walking trails around the lake. Barb was a great host and takes good care of the office and property. The place was as advertised, comfortable, quiet, and cozy, and affordable next to similar spots nearby. It’s closer to Smuggler's than Stowe, if that matters. I’d definitely come back.

The pond views from our clean, comfortable cabin were wonderful. We heard spring frogs at night and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise in the morning. It seems like a lovely place to vacation with another family. We’ll be back!

It’s a quiet, peaceful area, with well-kept grounds, lots of walking trails, a gorgeous lake, and a view of Mt. Mansfield. The cabins were spacious, super clean, and had modern amenities. For me, it’s the best place to stay in Vermont.

Our group of six had plenty of room to spend time together or enjoy some quiet on our own, with gorgeous views to take in. The beds were comfortable, and I’m particular about linens, so I was glad those were wonderful too. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and had everything we needed. The Roost at Sterling Ridge Resort looked beautiful in the photos, but the actual home was even better, immaculate and thoughtfully put together. We borrowed snowshoes from the main office and had fun exploring the grounds. The staff were welcoming and professional from our first booking contact through the whole stay. We had a perfectly lovely visit and are already looking forward to another.
