The Towne Motel

Breakfast was a fun, somewhat communal affair, with chances to chat with other guests about where they were from and what they were doing around Camden. Each morning there were big bowls of yogurt and delicious granola with lots of cashews, plus two platters of assorted homemade baked goods, orange juice and coffee. The location couldn’t be more convenient, just a five-minute walk to downtown. The rooms were updated and clean, with a tub in the bathroom and plenty of hot water. The beds and linens were very comfortable.

The host made breakfast fresh, and I believe she lives on the property. She was so welcoming, sharing her favorite Camden restaurants and two of her usual ice cream spots. It all felt personal and well managed. The motel is easy to get around on foot, only about a five-minute walk to the town center. It was quiet and clean, and we felt safe the whole time. Breakfast was excellent. I’d highly recommend this motel to anyone staying in Camden or passing through.

Our second-floor room, which I think was called the cozy room, was on the small side but very clean. The motel as a whole is maintained really well. There’s no elevator, just stairs, so you’ll have to carry everything up. If stairs and luggage are a problem, book a lower floor if you can. Breakfast was cake and granola, both good, and I really liked the coffee. Town center is just a short stroll away for shopping or food. The owners also recommended the waterfront, which was excellent.

We stayed two nights at Towne Motel in Camden, Maine. The rooms were very clean, with hard flooring instead of carpet, which I appreciated. We had two comfortable queen beds and a clean bathroom. My only suggestion would be to add extra blankets or a thicker comforter. We were on the second floor, so had stairs and no elevator, just so people know. Check-in was easy. We’d told them we’d be late, and they quickly explained what to expect. The inn is an easy walk from downtown Camden, where we enjoyed the shops and restaurants. There was a combination heat and AC unit that we didn’t need, and plenty of parking onsite. We had breakfast one morning, with hot coffee, a yogurt and fruit blend, and coffee cake.
