Carlyle Hotel

The hotel is nicely decorated and the room was clean. Rates are reasonable, too. The location felt a little sketchy, and my room was stuffy and hard to cool. The younger man at the desk wasn’t very friendly, though he did his job, while the older gentleman at checkout was very pleasant.

The room was spacious, clean, and really comfortable, and even though it’s near the main roads, it was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location and price were great too. I’d just like them to have tea as well as coffee.

I like this place and have found it solid over the years, though it’s easy to miss. The decor is Victorian, so it may not be the best fit for families. Rooms face toward the back, despite the hotel being off 17/280, but there isn’t really a view. The business center is gone, though the front desk guy is genuinely nice and I’m sure he’d print something for you if you asked politely. There’s a convenient Starbucks just across a small street, several fast food spots within walking distance, and downtown Campbell is one exit away. Give it a try and see for yourself. The outside doesn’t give much away about what’s inside. I was here for one work night and found it great overall, with a quick check-in, clean lobby and bedroom, on-site parking, and fast staff. I’m not fussy about hotel style, but the Victorian and European feel was very cool.
