Holiday Inn Club Vacations Hill Country Resort

The Villas worked really well for our group of 22. We had upgraded rooms 430A&B on the fourth floor, and the elevator made them easy to reach. Our friends stayed on the first floor in similarly upgraded rooms. The patio outside 417AB, 418AB, and 419AB was a great bonus for grilling on our Pit bosses and Blackstone grills. Those rooms didn't have the soaking tub, though. We were close to lake access for putting in a boat, and there were plenty of nearby stores for anything we forgot while cooking. Golf courses and other entertainment weren't far away either. The small-town feel is nice, with big shopping about 16 miles away. I’d recommend it for a large group or a small family. The main pool, restaurant, putting course, and activities are across FM306, so you have to drive over. We spent most of our time at the Villas' small pool and hot tub instead. Staff at the front desk, activities, and restaurant were all friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond. Security made us feel safe and quietly reminded guests about pool hours, rules, and music volume without being pushy or threatening.

We had a great time, and the two-bedroom villa was awesome. There were tons of amenities for the kids. The one complaint: we called customer service for a baking sheet to make dinner, waited over an hour, then drove to the front office to get it ourselves.

If you want to get away and be by yourself, this place may suit you. There isn't much to do, and the Marketplace's daily activities are just coloring. The Oasis bar is permanently closed. Some music by the pool would be nice, along with more umbrellas to shade the tables. We met a few couples who've been coming for years, but they said maintenance has changed a lot. In our room, the jetted tub in the master bedroom was disgusting and not clean. The back door to the patio was hard to open. There was only one outlet on one side of the king bed, and no radio, footstools for the overstuffed chairs, or drawers in the front room for guests' clothes. I also don't understand why there are no top drawers in the bathroom or kitchen counter.

It's sad to see Holiday Inn sell this place to private condo developers. My family and I were original Silverleaf owners, and we had so many good memories here. When Holiday Inn took over, they waited for the value to rise and sold the property. They still charged the 2025 annual dues, then after the sale, people got back only one year's dues. What about the tens of thousands people paid for deeded units? Nothing. It shows how much of a scam timeshares can be. Those memories are now for wealthy people who can afford what will probably be $750k condos. About 10 years ago, we sold our tiny 450sf condo on the same street for $55k. Now they’re listed at $200k with no amenities. Shame on you, Holiday Inn.
