What happened after checkout has soured me on this whole Marriott Townplace stay and on whether Marriot is improving. I checked my bill as I was leaving and saw it was $35.60 more than my original confirmation. I'd booked two rooms at the same price. I wasn't worried at first because Marriott has corrected this kind of thing for me before. I was wrong. After my trip, I called Marriott and got confirmation numbers for the credit adjustments. The refund for one room came in within 1-2 business days, but it was less than the overcharge. I let the $1.62 difference go because it wasn't worth the time on the phone. Around day five, the credit for the second room still hadn't arrived, so I called Townplace Cape Carniverval and spoke with the front desk. I was told the manager would only credit my room and that I wasn't entitled to a refund because I was traveling for pleasure, not business. In my opinion, she made it sound like I should be grateful for the one incorrect credit. I reminded her that as a loyal Marriott rewards member, that wasn't how this worked, and a hotel can't change the price after confirming it. It would be like a loan officer changing the car's total price after the dealership and I agreed to a lower one. I called Marriott again, opened a new ticket, gave them the original confirmation number, and got another ticket number. This could all have been avoided if Townplace had honored the confirmed price and resolved the issue. The whole ordeal has me wondering how I can trust Marriott hotels, and it's made me uneasy about whether to cancel my next stay. I stand by what I initially said about the front desk representatives working when I checked in at Marriott-Townplace-Capecarniveral on May 15, 2026. No need to respond, Townplace. You were wrong, and I'll be following up.

Our room was upgraded before we arrived, and we were very pleased with it. The view looked out over the ocean, and the hotel was near lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel itself was beautiful, and our stay left us feeling rested and restored, body and soul. I'd definitely stay here again.

A couple of employees at the 605 location really stood out. Ms. Ashley greeted us with a smile and such a helpful, positive attitude that it felt like the red carpet had been rolled out. I briefly thanked her because employees should hear directly that they're appreciated. She deserves a raise and could teach others how to represent the brand. Mr. Danny was a great help too. Ashley especially made me want to stay longer and, after some bad turn of events, made me more inclined to choose Marriott again. I look forward to my next stay because of these two. The breakfast could be better. The breakfast potatoes and egg whites would be ideal. Otherwise, kudos for an outstanding job. The open, spacious layout at Cape Carnival is the best I've seen lately, and it's been a long time since I encountered staff this customer-friendly at a Marriott. This is Townplace Suites at 605 western central in Cape carnival, FL, and the 605 location in Port Carnival.

As a stopover before a cruise, this was perfect. The room was nicely appointed, and housekeeping was thoughtful. The accessibility features were excellent. There was a good variety of food choices in the spacious lobby and breakfast area. It's the best experience I've had in a long time.
