The Inn on Pamlico Sound

The staff were so welcoming, from the front desk and cafe to housekeeping. We enjoyed the fire pit in the late afternoon, and there’s a little movie room for kids. With shops and some nightlife nearby, the Inn suited a family trip or a romantic getaway. We were there for a family wedding and got to see several rooms. They all looked out over the Sound, and Magnolia was my favorite. There’s a pool, a small beach, and floats, paddle boards, and canoes to keep you busy. The water is shallow for little ones. Breakfast and brunch at the Cafe were great. We skipped dinner, though a local we met said the Cafe was the best place for it. Service was slow, so give yourself time, especially at brunch. There were 16 of us, which may have been part of it. I’d recommend the place.

What made our stay stand out was the staff. They were so personable and treated us like personal guests. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the Sound views made both sunrise and sunset feel special. My wife and I loved the charming, relaxing atmosphere at The Inn on Pamlico Sound. We can’t wait to return.

We had a balcony with a great view, and the beds and sheets were cozy and comfortable. Fresh coffee showed up each morning in the little living room area, which we really liked. The property has plenty of pretty places to sit and take in the view. We arrived to a friendly welcome and felt at home right away. It was a little too chilly for the bikes and kayaks, but we were glad they were available and hope to try them when it’s warmer. We had a great time at the Inn on Pamlico Sound and can’t wait to come back to the Outer Banks on our next trip. I’d highly recommend it if you’re staying in the Buxton area.

The place had a great atmosphere and was clean, and our waitress was friendly and sweet. Everyone at the table liked their food and drinks except me. I ordered tuna with pineapple salsa, expecting something a little sweet, but it was too spicy for me to eat much. I had to ask for sour cream. The menu didn’t mention any spice, though I suppose I could have asked. Dessert took a long time to arrive, and mine was forgotten. By the time I got it, everyone else was done. I’d asked for decaf coffee with dessert, but they only have it downstairs in the morning, not at the upstairs restaurant. That was disappointing since I didn’t want the caffeine keeping me up late. The wrought iron chairs were uncomfortable, too.
