Capitola Hotel

The daytime and nighttime concierge were the real heroes of our anniversary stay. Both women were so kind and helpful, doing everything they could to make us comfortable, always with a friendly face. They deserve to be recognized. I can't say enough good things about them. The hotel itself is beautiful and right in the heart of Capitola, so everything is walkable. There's a cute little beer garden around the corner, restaurants and bars across the street, and the beach entrance is just a block away. My husband and I came for our 20th anniversary, and I'm so glad we chose the Capitola hotel. We definitely plan to return. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Right in the heart of Capitola, this is a clean, quaint place with really friendly people. It's not fancy, and you may hear some noise before 10 p.m. and after 7 a.m., but otherwise it's quiet.

The beds were comfortable and the location was ideal, but those were the only real positives for us. We paid over $300 a night and it just wasn't worth it. If you're a couple planning a weekend away and privacy matters, we'd strongly suggest staying elsewhere. We were upstairs for three nights and could hear everything through the thin shared walls. The man next door snored, and we heard every conversation he and his wife had while my husband and I were in bed. It wasn't romantic. We could only relax when the other guests nearby weren't in their rooms. It got so bad that we didn't want to spend time at the hotel beyond sleeping or taking a quick break. On the first night, we even wondered if we should eat the cost and switch hotels. We nearly complained to the front desk about the neighbors, but people talking at a normal volume in their own room weren't at fault. The walls were just that thin. Maybe downstairs would have felt different, but our stay left us with absolutely no sense of privacy.

We liked meeting other guests in the lobby over continental breakfast in the morning. It's a comfortable, nicely decorated boutique hotel in a great location, and we'll definitely make it a stop again.
