Inn at Depot Hill

You can get around Capitola on foot from the Inn at Depot Hill, with the beach, restaurants, bars, markets, and grocery stores all within walking distance. We didn’t need a car for our plans in the area. The inn itself was a gem, with spacious, distinctive rooms and a nice outdoor sitting area. Breakfast was great, and they let you know the menu the day before. There’s communal coffee, tea, hot water, a microwave, and a small fridge and freezer. Even before we arrived, the service was topnotch: we got check-in instructions with a video and could text the manager anytime. If you’re staying in Capitola, do yourself a favor and stay here.

Breakfast arrived at our room every morning, beautiful and delicious. It was chilly in there early in the day, so we ate by the fireplace instead. We stayed in the Capitola Beach room for two nights, celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary, and it was perfect for a romantic getaway. The Inn was stunning, and the staff paid superb attention to detail. Sagar, the Inn's manager, had left white wine in our room when we arrived, and there were warm chocolate chip cookies in the lobby. The beach is a short walk away, and the area was quiet. We also spent some time in the courtyard by the fountain pond. We’ll be back and hope to stay in their Railroad Baron next time.

We loved the cozy, romantic feel here, and the breakfast and service were both excellent. It’s also a perfect spot, within walking distance of everything.

Our room was roomy, clean, and cozy, and the staff were happy to help if we needed anything. The owner gave us a lovely welcome, and the staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. The stay felt private and romantic, even though downtown is just steps away. We’ll be back!
