I’ve stayed here four times and recommended it to friends and family. The hosts, Sharon and Thomas, are wonderful and happy to share their island knowledge, from favorite snorkeling spots and hiking trails to the island’s history. The peaceful setting above a macadamia orchard has a great view of the ocean, while still being an easy drive to snorkeling, national parks, and restaurants. There are just two comfortable rooms, both opening onto the ocean-facing lanai. Each has a small refrigerator, and snorkel gear, beach chairs, and a cooler are provided. Sharon and Thomas make a delicious breakfast every morning, starting with local fruit, then a hot entree and a freshly baked item, often featuring something unique to Hawaii. We found breakfast kept us going until a big late lunch out, then we’d bring back a small evening snack and watch the amazing sunsets. It’s a lovely place to experience the Aloha spirit on the Big Island.

You can sit under the roof outside your room and take in the beautiful bay view at any time of day. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the proprietors serve breakfast on a scenic veranda, with local exotic fruit grown on the farm and home-cooked entrees. They’re glad to suggest things for your itinerary, and their personal touch makes this B&B feel special. The proprietors are kind and friendly, sharing their home with guests. Don’t miss it.

We keep coming back, and the beautiful location, clean, quiet, well-kept rooms, and great hosts, Thomas and Sharon, make it easy to see why. The breakfast and view are the best we’ve had at any B&B. Hope to visit again soon.

We had a great two-day stay at Kona Bayview B&B. The homemade breakfast was delicious, the rooms were spacious, and the view was wonderful. I really recommend it.

My husband and I spent three nights at KBI, and it was fantastic. Thomas and Sharon were so welcoming and friendly, and the view was breathtaking. Breakfast was amazing, too. We got to pet the cutest, smartest dogs, Koa and Kai, and their five little puppies!
