There are plenty of restaurants, food trucks, and grocery stores nearby. My room had a fridge, microwave, hair dryer, good lighting, plenty of charging spots, useful temperature controls, a switched bathroom fan, plenty of hot water, and a TV sleep timer. The staff were pleasant and efficient. I only needed help at check-in, but she was friendly, and the housekeepers I passed in the halls were too. The room was spacious and clean. Noise from the street and inside the hotel was moderate, and the water pressure was just okay but usable. Breakfast runs 5 to 9 a.m., which is an unusual schedule, but it makes sense if most guests are in the area for work. The fridge has no freezer section or temperature control, the TV isn’t smart, and the fan can’t stay on continuously unless it’s set to fan-only mode.

We ran into trouble with a reservation through a third-party booking site, and the general manager and staff patiently helped sort it out. Their kindness and professionalism made a stressful situation much easier to handle. The hotel itself was lovely, but the caring, attentive service is what made the stay memorable. It’s rare to get customer service this good. I’d absolutely stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great experience.

I had a nice stay at this Holiday Inn Express in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The room seemed newly renovated and was clean, with a comfortable bed, working AC, refrigerator, and microwave. There’s an indoor pool and fitness center, and I found plenty of parking.

The breakfast had a good range, including curd, bread, cinnamon buns, eggs, and other things. The waffle machine was broken, though. Since it was Christmas Day, housekeeping wasn’t available; the manager’s note on the door explained that clearly, which I appreciated. I also liked the Ganesha statue near the entrance. This was one of my best Holiday Inn stays. The room was very clean, and the front desk staff were warm and welcoming. Special thanks to Tanya and Stephanie, who made the visit even better.

I was on a road trip to NM and found this to be a solid choice for the price. The room and bathroom were clean, and nicer than rooms at other Holiday Inn Express locations I’ve used. Having a microwave in the room was handy. The front desk person was pleasant, the water pressure was adequate, and breakfast was good, about what you’d expect at this level. I’d stay again.
