Carrollton Inn

We chose the Bridal sweet for a rare weekend away while my husband was working up here, hoping for special time together. The room was nice but very plain, and the TVs were really outdated. For what we paid, it didn’t feel like a special room. We were also told the on-site restaurant is closed Sundays and Mondays, so there were no drinks or anything. I’m disappointed and wish I’d researched more. If you want a special getaway, look into it first. This wasn’t the place.

The front desk guy was cool and gave me a refund without any hassle. I’d only been in the room for less than five minutes, but after dropping my bag I checked the bed like I always do and found bed bugs. I still left with two bites. Disgusting. If you’re thinking of staying here, maybe bring a hazmat suit and a gallon of bleach.

There’s no elevator to the second floor, and they could use a card or booklet with the restaurant and pool hours plus local sights to visit. The room phone didn’t work, and our shower curtain seemed overdue for a change. The rooms were mostly clean, though. Breakfast was the usual hot spread, with cereal, toast, pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits, fruit, and so on. The restaurant had lots of choices, from steak, chicken, seafood, burgers and sandwiches to appetizers. I liked the food and didn’t wait long. My Bloody Mary was average, nothing bad or especially good. There’s parking for big trucks.

We chose this place because it had a bar and restaurant, but when we arrived we found both closed, even though Google showed hours for that day. The room was dusty, the shower floor visibly dirty and moldy, and the toilet seat had fresh, still-wet pee stains. I wouldn’t stay there again, and I would’ve picked the other hotel in town if I’d known. The staff watched us load a luggage cart with coolers and suitcases and checked us in. Only after we’d hauled everything inside did they tell us our room was upstairs down the hall, with no elevator, so we had to unload and carry it all. Their attitude was sarcastic and left us bearing the hassle.
