Quality Inn Carthage

For the price, this works well if you’re not expecting a lot of amenities. I stay here often, and there’s a Holiday Inn across the street for about $50 more a night, but it isn’t really any better. It’s right beside a busy truck stop with a pretty good little store. The shower could use more pressure. About half the time the south side smells like human waste, while the other side seems fine. Otherwise, there’s nothing really wrong with the hotel. I guess it all depends on perspective.

The friendly, helpful customer service made the stay more pleasant. We were at Quality Inn for a quick trip, and it was a decent, affordable option if you’re not after anything upscale. The rooms were clean, though there was a noticeable moldy smell at first. Breakfast was basic but did the job: Texas-shaped waffles, biscuits with instant gravy, cereal, apples, bagels, precooked bacon, powdered eggs.

I had no dog. I’m the mover who rented the Penske truck, loaded my belongings, and came to this hotel for one night, from the 21st to the 22nd. They charged me an extra $30 for a dog I did not have!

A handy, budget-friendly place to stay. The room was clean and bright, the beds were comfortable, and the shower had strong pressure with plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and professional, and being set back from the road made it quiet. Breakfast was fresh but limited. I especially liked the biscuits.
