The front desk service was helpful and friendly, but the queen room was very small. The fridge was almost against the bed, and its door couldn’t open enough to fit much inside. There was no microwave or K-cup coffee maker, and they said the amps wouldn’t allow me to bring one. The water pressure was barely there. I also couldn’t get into the TV because it asked for a password. The desk guessed it might be 0000 or something a previous guest had set, which didn’t help. We never got it working. The location is convenient, right across from the casino. The casino card member deal was about $20 less, but I don’t think the room was worth that, let alone full price. Maybe the deal just gets you one of the crappier rooms.

The noise went on all night, even though the signs say quiet time starts at 10PM. People were hooping and hollering, then at 2am someone blasted music outside the hotel and woke me up. The staff seemed useless about it. The room clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, and there were several hairs in the shower. I’d recommend staying anywhere else.

The front desk person was friendly, competent and quick, so check-in was a breeze. After that, things went downhill. The room and bed were smaller than I expected, though it seemed clean. There was a really visible stain on the little corner chair, so I couldn’t sit there. I couldn’t get the sliding closet door open either. It was heavy and came off its rail if I pushed it much. I wanted to send some emails, but the weak Wi-Fi kept booting me off. I was too tired to ask for another room. A+ for cleanliness, D+ for the room and C- for the experience overall. Not a great first impression, and I’ll look elsewhere next time.

I booked the Farmstead hotel for one night, but the woman at the front desk told us, “you aren’t staying here. Go check in across the street.” I showed her the reservation and asked what she meant, but she insisted we were staying at the casino instead. So now I’m stuck in an “upgrade” room at a casino I never booked. The parking lot is WAY farther from the room than it would’ve been at the hotel, it smells like cigarettes, the floor is sticky and the coffee maker doesn’t work. The reviews and website had made the hotel look solid. I’m definitely not doing this again.

For the money, it wasn’t bad. We’d driven several hours and just needed a rest and dinner before finishing the trip the next day. The hotel and casino right off the interstate caught our eye, but a night at the casino hotel would’ve cost us over $300. The Farmstead was next door, maybe owned by the casino for customers looking for a cheaper option, and cost under $100. Fair enough for a place to sleep and move on. There was dinner at the casino bar and grill. Our room was small but clean, and the beds were comfortable. I think we got the chair with the spot that someone mentioned in a review, so I put a towel over it to set my bag down. The shower was clean, but the half glass let water soak the floor and cold air into the shower. The pressure wasn’t great either. Watch your shins and knees on the corners of the bed. Three men were talking with the woman working at the front counter when we went to our room, and they were kind of loud. Later, while we were sleeping, I could hear people at the desk talking, including one loud man. Our room was close to the desk, as you can see in the video.
