Motel 6 Raleigh, NC - Cary

The location was somewhat decent, but our room was beside the freeway. The room was filthy. The floors hadn’t been swept, and after a shower I had to use my towel to soak up the water because the shower curtain was too short. That white towel turned black. The grout made it clear the place wasn’t being cleaned. There was mold on the bathroom shower curtain and around the doors, and the back of the window curtain was covered in it too. The sheets may have been the only thing cleaned, and I can only hope they were. I definitely won’t stay again.

The room had cockroaches, the sink smelled awful, and the pillows were so flat that shredded newspaper would’ve been more comfortable. We asked the office for towels, but cockroaches came out of them before I could use them. The property was in very poor condition, and the first thing we noticed was that it sat right beside a junkyard.

I’ve been at this hotel for about 2-3 weeks and haven’t had any problems with the service, room, or linens. The staff listen and are willing to help if something comes up. Other guests mostly keep to themselves, and it’s a pretty decent area with a good amount of quiet. The location and affordability are great, and I’d definitely recommend it.

For around $70 a night, it seems safe and the basics all work, including hot water, heat, and cable. The owners and staff seem friendly too. It’s a good, inexpensive place to stop when passing through Raleigh on I-40.
