Holiday Inn Express & Suites Casa Grande by IHG

I stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels for work mainly to earn IHG points, but those points keep losing value, and reward nights seem unavailable wherever I actually want to go. So now the hotel stay itself matters, and my experience at the Casa Grande property has been terrible. My first room was labeled accessible, though I hadn't asked for that and didn't need it. There was hardly any counter space, the sink sat outside the bathroom and wouldn't drain, and there was no place to hang a hand towel nearby. The carpet was filthy, the bathroom tiles were cracked, and the lighting was both harsh and dim. The coffee tasted as if cleaning solution was still in the machine. The kitchen setup was the most concerning part: the coffee maker was stacked on the microwave, which sat on top of the fridge. It looked makeshift, unstable, and potentially hazardous. I asked to switch rooms. The second one had a functional bathroom and kitchenette, but that was about its only advantage. Laundry was another headache. It cost $3 in quarters per load, and there was no change machine, so I had to go to Bank of America for $10 in quarters. The washers smelled, and even with my own detergent, my clothes came out with a nasty, baked-in machine odor. The dryers were worse, covered in ink stains from a pen that had burst inside. I could only hope my clothes wouldn't be ruined. After spending $6 in quarters and two full hours, the laundry was still damp. There also always seemed to be unsupervised teenage girls walking barefoot through the halls. Maybe they were with a sports team, maybe not, but it felt unsettling and wasn't the professional, comfortable atmosphere I expect on a work trip. Between the poor rooms, useless laundry, and sketchy feel, the hotel was more hassle than it was worth. Casa Grande doesn't have many great hotels to choose from, but even by that standard, I'd skip this Holiday Inn Express.

The noise kept going through the hours people should be sleeping, and the staff let it continue. Kids were screaming in the pool after 9pm for a full hour, not just making a little noise. Later, loud music was blaring from a vehicle right outside the lobby's sliding front doors. I waited five minutes, then called the desk to complain. They seemed surprised, even though it was happening just outside the entrance.

The staff made me feel welcome, and everything I needed was available. This is where I'll look next time I need somewhere to stay on the road. Thanks for being so kind!! :)

Breakfast came with a range of food to choose from, and the hotel is near a mall. I booked a double room with a sofa bed at holiday inn express & suites casa grande. It's a two-star hotel, and I'd recommend it.
