I feel bad writing this because the kids at the front desk were so nice. Maybe their parents own the place, or maybe it was bought recently. Another front desk worker yelled at me. I tried two rooms, and both were filthy. It was very dark throughout, with broken glass and broken pipes. It looks like renovations might be happening slowly, but they probably shouldn’t rent rooms until the work is done. The photos online don’t match the place at all, and calling it three stars is false advertising. For $20 more, you can get a real four-star hotel in town. I honestly don’t know how this place is open.

We arrived after traveling all day with five children, and by then all I wanted was sleep. I’d booked and paid for two rooms with double queens at Econo Lodge in Casper WY for our 6/17/22 stay, two or three days ahead. Check-in was listed as 4:30 PM, but when we got there at 9:30 PM the desk clerk said there were no rooms ready. She said one housekeeper covered 200 rooms and we’d have to wait another one or two hours. That staffing problem wasn’t ours to deal with. We never got the rooms we’d paid for, and nobody apologized or offered any accommodation. About half an hour later we got two rooms with one king bed each. They gave us a rollaway, but it had what looked like bug carcasses on the sheets. The rooms were filthy, with live bugs crawling around. I filmed a cricket in the bathroom. Floors hadn’t been vacuumed, beds were dirty, and there was no soap in the bathroom. The door’s security lock had been broken off. Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby. Seven people had to share two beds. We asked to have one room comped since we hadn’t received what we paid for, but the manager was rude and didn’t care about the rooms being late or dirty. The customer service was terrible. We called corporate too, but they just told us to talk to the manager, which we’d already done. I paid $336 to stay at the “roach” hotel. The website promised free continental breakfast, but there was only coffee in the morning, if you got up early enough to get some in a Styrofoam cup. The online pictures make it look clean, fun, and safe for families, but that wasn’t what we found. I feel scammed, and that money could have gone toward groceries. I’m truly dissatisfied.

We had to stay because it was the only room left in Casper that night, and we’d already been driving for 13 hours. Check-in alone took an hour and a half. People were repeatedly given keys that didn’t work, or sent to rooms that were already occupied. The manager was condescending to everyone she dealt with, blamed her staff, and took no responsibility. The room was awful: dirty, stained carpet, mold and a previous guest’s hair in the shower, and no running water in it. The door wouldn’t lock unless you did it by hand. The coffee pot was gone. None of the exterior doors locked, and one had glass smashed outward, as if someone had tried to escape. The manager made excuses all night. Do not stay here.

I was here for four days during a pool tournament. The carpet was shampooed and wet when I arrived, then it went three days without being cleaned. They had no washcloths and ran out of towels. The place is very dated, and the pool and lounge were closed, something nobody mentioned when I booked. I asked to speak with the manager and was promised three times that I’d get a call, but nobody called. I checked out a day early and still haven’t received credit for that unused night.
