I rented condo number 9 at Villa Mykonos in Cathedral City, California, through Airbnb from March 10th till March 19th. I’m shocked by how filthy the place was. The floors looked as if they hadn’t been mopped in months, the furniture was covered in dust and dirt, and there was hair and dirt on the counters and bathroom sinks. Both patios had leaves and dirt on them. We spent hours cleaning. I complained to Will. He told me he’d fired the cleaning crew and hired a replacement, which I believe was a lie. I asked him to send the new crew while I was out, but when we got back, nothing had been done. He left a Swifter, so we mopped the floors ourselves. At that price, renting out a condo this dirty is a real shame. I’m disputing the charges now.

It’s been a while since I visited Villa Mykonos, but I loved it there. My housemate in San Diego had a condo, and it was such a nice escape to settle into some luxury. When Desert Palms was open next door, things got festive, and sometimes a little wild. I loved it and miss it!

Our spacious main-floor unit had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a good-sized kitchen and living area, a huge shower, and a large soaking tub in the other bathroom. The complex also has a pleasant pool, hot tub, BBQ, free laundry room, and a tiny multipurpose room with two exercise bikes and some free weights. Most or all rental units have single-stall garages, which would be a nice bonus in summer. I especially liked the recycling and compost bins on the property. Villa Mykonos is a complex of around 10 units in Cathedral City, within walking distance of Target, Boomers, Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, El Pollo Loco, and other shops, restaurants, and services. Our stay was pleasant overall, though the unit could use a deep clean and some maintenance. Several towels had holes, and the bedding was dated.
