Homewood Suites by Hilton Tulsa Catoosa

The location was the best part, and the stay was quiet and pleasant. The room looked clean and had what we needed. My wife thought breakfast was tasty, and she used the pool, which was nice but could’ve been warmer since it wasn’t heated. The duvet cover was scratchy and awful, and the pillows could’ve been much better. Check-in felt unwelcoming: the older man at the desk Friday night looked unhappy, stayed grumpy, never smiled, and was short with me. He didn’t point out the elevators or ask if I needed anything. At least, as an Honors member, he offered me a bottle of water. Five minutes after we got to the room, a roach ran across the table. My wife and I freaked out. We’re very clean people and had never dealt with that before. It definitely didn’t come from us. We searched everywhere with a phone flashlight, including under the desk, on the floor, behind crevices, by the fridge, under things, and around the TV. We didn’t see another one, so we figured it might’ve been a one-off, but we were uneasy and piled all our stuff in the middle of the room on the ottoman. We also checked the bed for bugs, and it looked clear. An okay, average stay, but below what I expect from a Hilton property. I’d say 3 to 3.5 stars.
