Rodeway Inn Cecil

For $76 a night, I got a basic, clean room, lots of parking, and bright security lights outside. The staff were friendly too. The “front desk” is actually the cashier at the gas station and minimart next door, which is pretty convenient. The motel is just a few hundred feet from the I75 exit for Cecil. It's a budget motorcourt, so don't expect five-star or even three-star amenities.

The price was excellent, and it was quiet and peaceful around there. The tub and shower looked dated but were clean. The mattress didn't inspire much confidence, though we both slept well.

We love staying here every year, and it's right near the track, so we'll be back next year. But this is the second time my reservation has been changed. Three or four years ago they deleted it completely, and this year they removed one night. I wonder if it's because I book at a cheaper discounted rate, and they bump me if they can sell the room for more.

We got there at midnight, and I put down my own blanket. I should've asked for a refund and left. There were blood stains on one bed, no blankets, just sheets, and when I asked for one they told me to turn up the heat. The place was very dirty, lights were falling off the walls, and the toilets hadn't been cleaned. I know it's a budget hotel, but this was the worst place I've ever stayed. We laughed at how bad it was, so the vibes got pretty high. Basically spent the night in a horror house.
