AmericInn by Wyndham Cedar Rapids Airport

We had an easy stay, from check-in right through checkout. The room felt cozy, and the hotel was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, and having restaurants so close by was a nice bonus.

It's a basic hotel with basic rooms. The pool is a decent size and there's a hot tub. The beds were the problem for us: really firm, like sleeping on plywood with a comforter over it.

Our check-in was set for 3 p.m., but the desk manager said the rooms wouldn't be ready until 5 or 6. She was extremely rude when I tried to talk through a solution, and refused when I asked for a manager. After we looked at her name tag, she got angrier and told us to leave the property until the room was available. I was calling another hotel because of how she treated us when she started calling the police to make us leave. Our room had already been paid for, but she canceled it.

I was in town for work and this was my first stay at this particular hotel. The location worked perfectly for me, close to the airport, shopping, and several restaurants. My room was nice and clean. I'll stay here again.
