SpringHill Suites Allentown Bethlehem/Center Valley

We didn’t get into our room until after the wedding, around 10 pm, even though we’d arrived at 2:15. We’d called twice that morning because the wedding bus was leaving at 3:15, but were told early access couldn’t be guaranteed. At check-in, staff said the room needed another 30-45 minutes. We got ready in a cousin’s room, then checked again just before the bus left and still couldn’t get in. The front desk didn’t seem to care about the inconvenience. The room itself was great once we finally got there, but we only used it from 10 pm to 9 am checkout, and paid over $180.

The only thing that kept this from being five stars was the bed, which was firmer than I like. I was in town for work and found the suite homey, with lots of space and a couch and ottoman that were great for watching TV. The bathroom looked great, and the shower was amazing. I didn’t get to try breakfast because of my work start time. Friendly staff and a lobby minibar gave the place an upscale feel. Great stay otherwise.

I dropped off wedding welcome bags for guests staying at Springfield on Friday, Sept. 5th, ahead of the wedding the next day. The front desk attendant was barely civil and couldn’t be bothered to look up the guests or write down their names. I don’t know which of our guests, if any, got the bags. I’ve left messages for the managers and haven’t heard back. The guests at Hyatt, Hampton Inn, Candlewood Suites and Wind Creek had no such problem, and their front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Based on this customer service alone, I’d skip Springhill Suites if you’re staying in the area.

It looks like a new hotel, and it was exceptionally clean. The service was excellent, and the location near the Promenade area gave us lots of dining and shopping options. I’ll definitely stay here again.
