Best Western Chambersburg

The breakfast buffet attendant was constantly tidying up and keeping the food fresh. We did find a hair tie with hair wrapped around it, which looked like it may have been hidden by a previous guest to make a point about cleaning. Aside from that, the hotel was incredibly clean. It had a funny smell, but not an unpleasant one. For a little hotel right off the highway, I was surprised by how clean it was for the price.

There are lots of restaurants and stores nearby, and I had a fantastic stay. The room was roomy, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was good, especially the eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, and really delicious waffles. There was other food too. Sharon, the breakfast lady, was wonderful, and the staff were incredible and accommodating. I'll definitely stay here again.

I've stayed here several times, and usually it gets the job done. But this last stay had a serious sanitation problem: there was poop smeared on the toilet seat. It was 1 AM and we were exhausted, so we cleaned it with a baby wipe and went to bed without reporting it. The beds also feel worn out, stiff at the sides and sunken in the middle. On the far east side, highway noise from I-81 is nonstop, like trucks are right outside. I thought the window was open, but it wasn't. We had only two towels for two people over three nights, so asking staff for more was annoying. Breakfast ends at 9 AM, too early for me when traveling, and I assume that's a cost-cutting measure. The remodel and painting look nice, but the hotel needs to improve cleanliness, comfort, and the guest experience before I'd return.

Staff were nice and attentive. The room was clean and well kept, though it smelled a little funny at times. It seemed to have been renovated sometime in the past few years.
